Mr. Daniel R. Mytels (Dan), Managing Director

Mr. Mytels has many years of experience in private equity and investment banking and has facilitated the successful buyout and/or acquisition of numerous profitable middle market companies.  He currently serves and has previously served on the boards of directors of several leading closely held companies.  Before co-founding Intrepid Capital Group, LLC, Mr. Mytels founded a successful boutique investment bank that specialized in providing merger & acquisition and private placement services to middle market companies in the $5M - $500M range.  In this capacity he led advisory teams on dozens of transactions covering the full spectrum of the middle market.  Earlier in his career, he led engagement teams as a strategic consultant with Arthur D. Little and worked for Deloitte & Touche LLP’s Corporate Tax and Valuation Groups.  He has been an earlier pioneer in the use of synthetic equity in S-Corp ESOP buyouts and is recognized as an expert on buyouts, taxation, valuation, and ESOP legal and compliance issues.  He earned his B.S. in Management Science from the University of California at San Diego.

Dan Mytels was born and raised in Northern California and currently resides there with his wife, Michele Tatos, who is the CEO of Community Vocational Enterprises (www.cve.org), a leading triple bottom line social entrepreneurship organization.  In their free time, they enjoy competing in organized volleyball tournaments, playing soccer, hiking and traveling, especially in the Southwest.
